On behalf of the POWRA Board of Directors, I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the membership of this active professional organization in 2012.

As reflected by the professions of our members, this is an association of multiple disciplines that work together in the onlot treatment and disposal program in Pennsylvania.  The present membership includes SEOs, engineers, system designers, soil scientists, installers, and service providers.

The Board has worked hard this past year to present a meaningful platform for the discussion of important topics relative to the current onlot program in PA.  A May 20, 2011 bus trip in Tannersville visited several sites in northeast Pennsylvania where recently approved wastewater technologies have been installed. Another POWRA Technical Session was also held at Cabela’s in Hamburg on October 7, 2011. This session addressed onlot alternate technology listing updates and high strength wastewater treatment options.

More interesting activities are planned for 2012; including a proposed spring field trip to visit sites in central and southcentral Pennsylvania, where some recently approved technologies have been installed. The POWRA board is currently looking into the possibility of DEP continuing education credits for any future sessions. Benefits of POWRA membership also include NOWRA membership and reduced rates for attendance at any POWRA or NOWRA sponsored sessions. Our goal is to address current issues that impact you and your experience with the onsite wastewater recycling program in Pennsylvania.  That’s why your membership is so important to this association.
